Another blast from the past:

In illustrating my novel, The Dice of Fate. I really think my pen and ink skills are improving. The part shown here is just a section of the full page, but I enjoyed doing the detail. It was a fun challenge, trying to show charcoal and burned wood in a black and white setting. Some judicious editing in my favorite program, GIMP, kept the contrast high. I used Sakura illustration pens on 70 lb Bee marker paper. I may rephotograph it to make it a little sharper.
